geomecon GmbH has analysed the in-situ stress field for more than 15 geothermal projects in the Upper Rhine Graben, the Molasse Basin, and Scandinavia. Furthermore, the in-situ stress field has been analysed for a couple of hydrocarbon related projects for different licence blocks in North and South Germany. The stress field analysis is based on the concept of the frictional equilibrium of faults and is refined with local data from various sources like well logs, focal mechanisms, structural informations etc. This approach can be used for the determination of the in-situ stress field in your reservoir and for over- under underlaying strata providing a stress field estimate from the surface down to the reservoir. In addition, the in-situ stress field lays the basis for our borehole stability or fault stability analysis.
